These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Bug ID ("the app", "we", "us"). By using the app, you agree to these Terms.

Use of the App

Bug ID allows you to submit photos of insects, spiders, and similar small creatures to receive AI-assisted identification and related information.

You agree to use the app only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not misuse, disrupt, or abuse the app or its backend services.

AI Results and Accuracy

Bug ID uses automated systems and AI models to generate identification results. Results may be incomplete, inaccurate, or wrong.

You should not rely on Bug ID as the sole source for decisions involving health, safety, bites, stings, allergies, pest control, poisonous species, property damage, or emergency situations.

If you believe you were bitten, stung, exposed to venom, or are experiencing symptoms, contact a qualified medical professional, poison control center, or emergency services.

No Professional Advice

The app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, veterinary advice, pest-control advice, or environmental safety advice.

Information about danger levels, first aid, bites, stings, venom, habitat, and species behavior is general informational content and may not apply to your situation.

Subscriptions

Bug ID may offer auto-renewing subscriptions, including weekly and yearly Bug ID Pro plans.

Subscription benefits may include unlimited bug identifications, bite and sting danger information, recognition features, and saved bug collection features.

Subscription prices, durations, and available plans are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by country or region.

Auto-Renewal and Cancellation

Subscriptions are charged to your Apple ID through the Apple App Store.

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Your Apple ID may be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings after purchase.

Payments and Refunds

Payments are processed by Apple. We do not process or store your full payment card information.

Refund requests are handled by Apple according to Apple App Store policies.

If a purchase or restore does not unlock access correctly, use Restore Purchases in the app or contact us.

User Content

You are responsible for photos and other content you submit to the app.

You confirm that you have the right to submit the photos you upload.

You grant us permission to process submitted photos and related information as needed to operate the app, provide identification results, maintain security, and improve reliability.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the app for illegal, harmful, abusive, or fraudulent activity
• Attempt to reverse engineer, overload, disrupt, or bypass app security or backend systems
• Submit content that violates another person's rights or privacy
• Use automated tools to scrape, spam, or abuse the service
• Misrepresent AI-generated results as verified professional advice

Availability and Changes

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the app at any time. We may update features, subscription offerings, AI providers, backend systems, and app content over time.

We are not responsible for temporary interruptions, network issues, provider outages, App Store issues, or other events outside our control.

Intellectual Property

The app, design, software, branding, and related content are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or exploit any part of the app except as allowed by these Terms or applicable law.

Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We do not guarantee that identifications, danger ratings, first-aid information, or other results will be accurate, complete, safe, or suitable for your specific situation.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses resulting from your use of or reliance on the app.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these limitations may not apply to you.

Apple Terms

Your use of the app may also be subject to Apple Media Services Terms and App Store rules. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.

Privacy

Your use of Bug ID is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date on this page.
